Birth: I don't know when, but it was in Caracas, Venezuela.

Death: Still alive and making films about women.

Comments: Alexandra Hidalgo is an American professor at Michigan State University whose research focuses on film and video production, gender, and race. She holds a B.A. in philosophy from Ohio University, an M.F.A. in creative fiction from Naropa University, and a Ph.D. in English from Purdue University.

Hidalgo is also a documentary film maker, having made the film PERFECT: A Conversation with the Venezuelan Middle Class about Female Beauty and Breast Implants and is currently working on a documentary about four immigrant women living in New York City.

Hidalgo has a website named Alexandra Hidalgo.
