Clarkesworld

Clarkesworld is an online monthly science fiction magazine that has been published since 2006. Founded by Neil Clarke, who has served as publisher and editor-in-chief for the magazine since its inception, Clarkesworld has, in a scant handful of years, become a significant force in the world of genre fiction. The magazine consistently publishes high-quality science fiction, and has featured stories by authors such as Elizabeth Bear, Aliette de Bodard, Kij Johnson, Sarah Monette, Catherynne Valente, and Jeff VanderMeer.

The magazine is available online, through the Clarkesworld website. One can also subscribe to the magazine in a variety of electronic formats. One interesting quirk is that all of them magazine's content is made available in audio format via either their official podcast or by direct download from the website. In addition, all of the fiction published by the magazine is assembled into an annual print anthology that can be purchased from Wyrm Publishing. Finally, individual print issues of the magazine are available on a limited basis, but as far as I can tell, the best way to acquire them is to find Neil Clarke at a convention and buy them directly from him.

Stories from the magazine have been nominated for or won the Hugo Award, Locus Award, Nebula Award, World Fantasy Award, and WSFA Small Press Award. The magazine itself has won the Hugo Award for Best Semiprozine three times and Neil Clarke has been nominated for the Hugo Award three times for his editing work.
