Musical Artist - Marie, Kelly

Kelly Marie is a Scottish singer best known for her hit Feels Like I'm in Love. Born Jacqueline McKinnon, she was first noticed after appearing on the television show Opportunity Knocks performing a cover version of I Don't Know How to Love Him. This led to a recording contract and the single Who's That Lady with My Man, which had a good run on the charts in France. Over the next few years, Marie released more singles, reaching the top ten in South Africa with Run to Me, and the top ten in South Africa and Australia with Make Love to Me.

Marie had her greatest success in 1980 with the song Feels Like I'm in Love, which reached number one on the U.K. charts and was a top ten hit in most other countries. The song reached number ten on the U.S. dance charts. Her career dwindled quickly after scoring this hit, with her subsequent singles failing to reach the top twenty, then failing to reach the top fifty, and then failing to chart at all. She continued to record and release singles through the 1980s, but by 1981, her career was effectively over as anything other than a nostalgia act.
