Comments: Harry Thompson was an English comedian, television producer, and author. Thompson was educated at Oxford University before joining the BBC as an intern, which launched his career as a writer for British comedy series. Before his untimely death due to inoperable lung cancer, he produced numerous television programs for the BBC, mostly comedic quiz shows, and authored five books, three of them biographies, including a biography of Tintin creator Hergé.
