Follow Friday - There Are Fifty-Four Milligrams of Caffeine in a Can of Mountain Dew

It's Friday again, and this means it's time for Follow Friday. There has been a slight change to the format, as now there are two Follow Friday hosts blogs and two Follow Friday Features Bloggers each week. To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:
  1. Follow both of the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and any one else you want to follow on the list.
  2. Follow the two Featured Bloggers of the week - Alluring Reads and Justin's Book Blog.
  3. Put your Blog name and URL in the Linky thing.
  4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say hi in your comments.
  5. Follow, follow, follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "Hi".
  6. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the love . . . and the followers.
  7. If you want to show the link list, just follow the link below the entries and copy and paste it within your post!
  8. If you're new to the Follow Friday Hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!
And now for the Follow Friday Question: Do you read one book at a time or do you switch back and forth between two or more?

I usually read two or three books at once. There isn't any particular reason I do this, it just always seems to work out that way. Right now I'm reading That Hideous Strength by C.S. Lewis (read review) and More Than Human by Theodore Sturgeon (read review), as well as slowly working my way through American Fiction, Volume Nine and Building Web Sites for Dummies.

  1. Hi! My name is Froggy and I am a new Follower. Wow, I have to say you are reading quite a few books at once right now. How are you liking the building websites for dummies?

  2. Do you ever find you like one more than the other and then start focusing only on that one? Here's mine: http://harleybearbookblog.blogspot.com/2012/03/weekly-event-follow-friday-2.html

  3. @Froggy: Building Web Sites for Dummies is pretty good so far. I haven't gotten too far into it yet, but I have found it to be useful thus far.

  4. @HarleyBearBooks: I usually have a "primary" book that takes precedence over the others, although sometimes that book gets set aside in favor of another under the right circumstances.

  5. Hmm, another multitasker. I guess that's kind of the norm in the reviewing world. But I just couldn't do it. At least not on a regular basis.

    I'm a new follower :)

    And here's my FRIDAY FOLLOW

  6. @Vanya D.: I try to multitask, but sometimes I wonder how good I actually am at it. Perhaps I would get more done if I focused on one thing at a time.

  7. Ah, More Than Human, my son's favorite work of science fiction. I liked it well enough, but not as much as he does.

  8. I'm one of the few who can't juggle multiple books. Wish I could, but in order to keep my facts straight I have to be a monogamous reader =)

  10. @Julia Rachel Barrett: I've actually read More Than Human before, but I'm rereading it now as part of my run through the winners of the International Fantasy Award. It is one of my favorite science fiction books about telepathy.

  11. @Kristan: Even though I almost always end up reading multiple books at once, I often think that you have the right idea by sticking with one at a time.

  12. @veela-valoom: I like some of Lewis' work, most notably the Chronicles of Narnia, but I'm not a big fan of his Space Trilogy. I'm rereading them because someone recently e-mailed me and asked me to and the things that made me less than enthusiastic about them are even more apparent now. I should have reviews for all of them next week.
