Follow Friday - Sixty-Seven Is a Lucky Prime

It's Friday again, and this means it's time for Follow Friday. There has been a slight change to the format, as now there are two Follow Friday hosts blogs and two Follow Friday Features Bloggers each week. To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:
  1. Follow both of the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and any one else you want to follow on the list.
  2. Follow the two Featured Bloggers of the week - Vivaciously, Vivian and A GREAT Read.
  3. Put your Blog name and URL in the Linky thing.
  4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say hi in your comments.
  5. Follow, follow, follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "Hi".
  6. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the love . . . and the followers.
  7. If you want to show the link list, just follow the link below the entries and copy and paste it within your post!
  8. If you're new to the Follow Friday Hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!
And now for the Follow Friday Question: What drove you to start book blogging in the first place?

Bad memory. Seriously. I have always read a lot, but a couple years ago I realized that I wasn't remembering the books I had read the way I wanted to. At about the same time I also realized that if I wrote about a book after I had read it, I would remember it much better. There is simply something about writing that seems to lock information into my memory. So I started writing reviews for everything I read. At that point, I was already writing about the books I read, so I started to post them. The end result: this book blog.

  1. I love that answer! I think blogging is a great way to keep track of what one reads and thinks about!

  2. Ha! That is a lot of the reason I started my blog -- reading a lot and you forget plots, characters, and if you even really liked the book or if it was just your crazy memory. :)

  4. I started using goodreads because I couldn't remember all the books I'd read. I still don't remember...but I can at least check now!

  5. I used Goodreads for remembering both the books I had already read, and the books I want to read... Needless to say, my TBR pile is growing each time I connect on Goodreads or on a new blog :D

Here's my FF post if you want to find out why I recently started my own blog.

I'm an old GFC follower, but a new linky follower. Have a great weekend.

  6. I really like your answer, it is good to be able to read a book - write your thoughts on it, and in case you ever forget you can look back at it!
    New follower here. (:

  7. @Christina: I (obviously) agree. I write because if I don't, I don't remember stuff the way I want to. I blog as a byproduct of writing.

  8. @Cassi Haggard: I have a Goodreads account, but I don't use it. All of my books are cataloged on LibraryThing instead.

  9. Lexxie: My TBR pile is thousands of books long, and seems to be getting longer every day.

  10. @Karen: I have on occasion gone back to reread material that I wrote a couple years ago and thought "Did I write that? I don't remember that at all".

  11. @The Brunette Librarian: There is nothing like writing for sharpening your memory.

  12. @Jenny: I keep track of my book progress partially with my blog, but also with LibraryThing, and, most primitively, by means of an Excel spreadsheet that I keep updated.
