The only requirements to participate in the Hop are to write and link a post answering the weekly question and then visit other blogs that are also participating to see if you like their blog and would like to follow them. I love writing stuff that might get read by someone. I like writing. I suspect many bloggers who stick with it do as well. Sometimes it is like pulling teeth to sit down and put a review together, but it always turns out to be worth it in the end.

I enjoy writing if I feel like I've done it well - I cringe otherwise, though that doesn't necessarily stop me from posting it. I find writing them to be a chore, but one that I feel oddly accomplished about. I read during the week and then right them all on Sundays (perhaps that is why it seems like a chore - because I've made it one).
ReplyDelete@Elizabeth: I do most of my reading on the bus or the subway, so reviewing as I read isn't really an option. Also, I usually like to mull a book over for a day or two before writing a review. But I can certainly see how reviewing as you read would streamline the process.
ReplyDelete@Rory: I wish I could be organized enough to have a reviewing "day". I usually just review books when I get a chance to sit down and do it, and usually it takes me two or three tries to actually turn out a finished product.
