Musical Artist - Ross, Diana

Diana Ross is an American singer and actress. She rose to fame in the 1960s as a member of (and later leader of) the Supremes, one of the most successful female signing groups of all time. With the Supremes, Ross released several hit singles including Baby Love, Come See About Me, Love Child, Someday We'll Be Together, Stop! In the Name of Love, Where Did Our Love Go, You Can't Hurry Love, and You Keep Me Hangin' On.

Ross left the Supremes in 1970 and embarked upon a highly successful solo career. As a solo artist, she has released two dozen studio albums, five soundtrack albums, and five live albums. Over the years, she has produced numerous hit singles including Ain't No Mountain High Enough, Endless Love (with Lionel Ritchie), I'm Still Waiting, Love Hangover, Theme from Mahogany (Do You Know Where You're Going To), Touch Me in the Morning, and Upside Down.

Ross has also had a reasonably successful career as an actress, playing the lead in the movies Lady Sings the Blues, Mahogany, and The Wiz. She has also appeared in television roles in productions such as Out of Darkness and Double Platinum.

Ross has been nominated for 12 Grammy Awards, but never won the honor, although she has been honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. She has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Supremes and has received Kennedy Center Honors and a Presidential Medal of Freedom.
