Musical Artist - Ahrens, Lynn

Lynn Ahrens is an American lyricist who has written for musical theatre, television, and film. In collaboration with her long time working partner Stephen Flaherty, she has written the lyrics for numerous Broadway musicals including Ragtime and Seussical. Ahrens has also written music for several children's television shows, including Captain Kangaroo, and the Schoolhouse Rock series, for which she also performed as a vocalist. She also helped write the music for the animated movie Anastasia and the teleplay for the 2004 made for television musical A Christmas Carol, which was based on the 1994 stage musical she had also written. For her work, she has won a Tony Award, and has been nominated multiple times for the Golden Globe Award and the Academy Award.
