Musical Artist - The Virginia Gentlemen

Founded in 1953, the Virginia Gentlemen is the oldest a cappella singing group at the University of Virginia. They were originally part of the Virginia Glee Club, but separated from that organization in 1987 (which, coincidentally, is the year that I started at the University). Due to their sixty year old origins and their position as the flagship singing group of the University, the group's standard performance attire is a blue blazer, khaki pants, and orange and blue bow ties. The group has toured extensively, and has been asked to perform for three sitting U.S. Presidents - George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama, but I know them best from their annual holiday concert in Cabell Hall at the University, which always concludes with their "awful" version of The Twelve Days of Christmas.

The Virginia Gentlemen have an official website. They can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.
