Musical Artist - Wallis, Shani

Shani Wallis is a British-born American movie, television, and theater actress best known for playing the role of Nancy in the 1968 movie adaptation of the musical Oliver! In addition to her substantial role in Oliver!, Shani has appeared in a handful of movies ranging from Terror in the Wax Museum to The Pebble and the Penguin, as well as a handful of appearances on television, but spent most of her career on stage. A child actor who appeared on stage beginning at the age of four, she made her musical debut in 1952 in a production of Call Me Madam. This performance was followed by numerous other roles including Wonderful Town and Finian's Rainbow. Wallis emigrated to the United States in 1960, eventually becoming a naturalized citizen. Along the way, she added several notable musical roles on the American stage to her resume, including turns in South Pacific and The King and I.
