Follow Friday - Forty-Three Is the Atomic Number of Technetium

It's Friday again, and this means it's time for Follow Friday. There has been a slight change to the format, as now there are two Follow Friday hosts blogs and two Follow Friday Features Bloggers each week. To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:
  1. Follow both of the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts (Parajunkee and Alison Can Read) and any one else you want to follow on the list.
  2. Follow the two Featured Bloggers of the week - Book Den and Bad Ass Book Reviews.
  3. Put your Blog name and URL in the Linky thing.
  4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say hi in your comments.
  5. Follow, follow, follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "Hi".
  6. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the love . . . and the followers.
  7. If you want to show the link list, just follow the link below the entries and copy and paste it within your post!
  8. If you're new to the Follow Friday Hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!
And now for the Follow Friday Question: Many readers/bloggers are also big music fans. Tell us about a few of your favorite bands/singers that we should listen to in 2012.

If you follow my blog at all, it should probably come as no surprise that my musical tastes tend to run to the geeky end of the spectrum. So if you sing about programming, pirates, Star Trek episodes, Dungeons & Dragons, or just the weird guy your former boyfriend kept bringing along on all your dates, then I'm likely to listen to your music. Singing about Wil Wheaton would probably help too.

  1. Hopping through. Are you a D&D person? Do people play that online now or is it still a board game? Are a lot of D&D people World of Warcraft fans too?

  2. @Alison Can Read: Yeah, it is still a tabletop game, although there is an online MMO called Dungeons & Dragons Online that is out there. There are also a number of standalone computer games that are related to the system.

I suppose I am a D&D person, although I haven't kept up with the current 4th edition of the tabletop rules, mostly because I don't find it stylistically pleasing. They just announced the development of a new edition (which will be the 5th edition of the tabletop rules).

There is probably a fair amount of overlap between D&D players and WoW players, but the WoW fan base is so large that current or former D&D players probably only make up a tiny fraction of the community. I don't know because I don't play WoW. The only MMO I've played to any great extent is Lord of the Rings Online.

  3. Happy Friday . . . the 13th. :)

Wow, suddenly I have a craving to dig out some Warp 11, my favourite singing about Star Trek band.

    Here's my FF

  4. Happy FF! New follower here. I used to play D&D as a teenager. Getting a bit nostalgic now.

  5. @Bob: I'll have to check out Warp 11. I love finding new "geek oriented" music to listen to.

  6. Daniel A. Kaine: I still have a huge array of D&D books and paraphernalia, but just don't seem to be able to find the time to regularly play these days. I hope to change this soon, but right now, all I can do is read through them every now and then, and sketch plans.
