As I noted last week, my son recently graduated from high school. At his graduation, the chorus (which included my daughter) performed Time to Say Goodbye. The school orchestra also contributed to the ceremony, performing Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, which happens to be one of my favorite pieces of music. So, to continue the tribute to my son completing the first large hurdle in life, here is the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra playing the concerto.

Look, I apologize if I am being a little repetitive at this point about "Babylon 5", but do you think that there MIGHT be a better show than Babylon?
ReplyDelete@Matthew70371: Sure. I haven't seen one, but I have seen shows that could have been if they had been executed better (or had been allowed to be executed better).
DeleteFor example, Firefly might have been better than Babylon 5 if it had been allowed to develop over the course of a couple of seasons and the implied underlying plot had come to fruition. It was cut short, so we will never know one way or the other.
The new Battlestar Galactica showed promise, but it fumbled so badly in its execution that it comes up well short of being as good as Bablyon 5.
Netflix is putting out some brilliant shows right now, although their seasons are quite short. Sense8 could end up being as good as Babylon 5, but it isn't there yet. I'm not sure how to judge all of the various Marvel series that Netflix has put out - are they a single entity, or several smaller series? They may end up rivaling Babylon 5 in quality. Or they might not.
Is it possible that a show might be as good as Babylon 5? Sure. After all, Babylon 5 got made. There hasn't been one yet, but there could be.
