Danny Elfman is a musician, actor, and composer who is most famous for being Tim Burton's favorite movie score composer. Elfman got his start composing soundtracks for Tim Burton's movie
Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, and has since written the sound track for almost every other Tim Burton movie, including
Beetlejuice,
Batman,
Batman Returns,
Edward Scissorhands,
Mars Attacks!,
Sleepy Hollow, and
Corpse Bride. Elfman has also written the score for a number of other non-Time Burton movies such as
Scrooged,
Sommersby,
The Frighteners,
Dick Tracy,
A Simple Plan, and my favorite Christmas movie
The Nightmare Before Christmas. In addition to scoring movies, Elfman has written several theme songs for television shows, notably the
Flash live-action television show, and
Batman:The Animated Series.
Elfman has also appeared in several productions, usually providing voice talent. For example, he provided the singing voice of Jack Skellington in
The Nightmare Before Christmas, as well as the voices of Barrel and the Clown with a Tear-Away Face. In short, if you have watched movies are television in the last twenty-five years, you've probably heard something composed by or sung by Danny Elfman. You can find
Elfman on Facebook.
