Louise Gold is an English actress and puppeteer. She joined the
Muppet Show in 1977 where she worked for four years. At the time, she was the only English member of the Muppeteers, and one of the few women. Gold performed a number of Muppets, but her most prominent was Ms. Piggy's rival Annie Sue Pig. She left the Muppets after the 1982 movie
The Dark Crystal, and helped found the satirical television show
The Spitting Image. She stayed with the show from 1984 to 1986, becoming notable for her sharply satirical performances as Nancy Reagan and Queen Elizabeth II.
