4 Non Blondes was a San Francisco based band best known for their 1993 hit
What's Up. Their best-known lineup included founding member Christa Hillhouse alongside Linda Perry, Dawn Richardson and Roger Rocha. Though the band was short-lived - forming in 1989 and breaking up shortly after Perry left the group in 1994, it left a legacy that seems to vastly outweigh the fact that it mostly consisted of a single song.
After Perry left the group, she launched a successful career as a songwriter, writing hits for artists such as Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, and Grace Slick. Perry is also married to actress Sara Gilbert.
