Musical Artist - Dexys Midnight Runners

Dexys Midnight Runners is an English pop band first formed in 1978 and best known for their hits Geno and Come on Eileen. The core of the band was (and is) Kevin Rowland, who is the only member of the band to appear in all of its incarnations, although Jim Paterson also appeared on all of the albums released in the 1980s.

The band released three albums between 1980 and 1985, producing thirteen singles and two number one hits in the U.K. as well as six other songs that reached the top twenty in the U.K. They had limited success in the United States, with Come on Eileen and The Celtic Soul Brothers being their only songs to reach the U.S. charts.

The band broke up in 1987, and Kevin Rowland moving on to being a solo artist for several years. Rowland eventually reformed the band with an almost entirely new lineup in 2003. The reformed band turned out two new albums and has had reasonable success in the U.K.

The band has an official website named Dexys. They can also be found on Twitter and Facebook.
