Earth, WInd, and Fire from, I think, the early 1980s. |
Earth, Wind, and Fire was originally founded in 1970 by Maurice White who was joined at various times by Verdine White, Fred White, Larry Dunn, Al McKay and Andrew Woolfolk. As near as I can tell, the current members are Philip Bailey, Verdine White, Ralph Johnson, B. David Whitworth, Myron McKinley, John Paris, Morris O'Connor, and Serg Dimitrijevic, and the band has literally dozens of former members. Earth, Wind, and Fire was one of the most successful acts of the 1970s, and produced music in multiple genres, most notably R&B, funk, disco, and jazz. They turned out more than twenty studio albums, with seven of their albums and seven of their singles reaching the top ten charts. Over the years, the band received twenty Grammy nominations and won six times. They have been inducted in the the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
The band has a website named
The Official Site of the Mighty Elements Earth, Wind, and Fire.
