Originally founded in 1989, the Cranberries were one of the most successful bands of the 1990s, with a number of hits including
Zombie,
Linger,
Dreams, and
Promises. Currently consisting of Dolores O'Riordan, Neol Hogan, Mike Hogan, and Fergal Lawler, the band was an Irish alternative rock powerhouse that had four hit albums between 1993 and 1999, and then hit a rough patch when the 2000s arrived, resulting in the band going on a six-year hiatus before reforming in 2010. The band recorded tracks for a new album that was released in 2012, but subsequent events have made it unclear whether the group will continue further as a unit or return to being on hiatus.
On January 16, 2018, Delores O'Riordan died at the age of 46. Not only was this shockingly unexpected and tragic, it also essentially ended the Cranberries as a going concern.
The band has a website named
The Cranberries, although it currently seems to have very little in the way of actual content. They can also be found on
Facebook and
Twitter.
