Comments: Kelly Sue DeConnick is an American comic book author, editor, and translator. She has written numerous comic book series, including Pretty Deadly, Bitch Planet, Captain Marvel, and Avengers Assemble. Much of her writing has a decidedly feminist bent, which often gives her books an edge that elevates them above the norm. She has also participated in translating and adapting numerous Manga books from Korean and Japanese into English.
In a rather notorious event, when she was to be a guest at the 2012 Dundrum International Comics Expo, DeConnick was listed in the program merely as the "spouse of Matt Fraction". This generated substantial (and justified) criticism for the Expo and spawned an internet meme as people declared they were not the wife of Matt Fraction.
