Author - White, E.B.

Birth: July 11, 1899.

Death: October 1, 1985.

Comments: E.B. White was a contributor to The New Yorker magazine for sixty years, but is most well-known for his children's books Stuart Little, Charlotte's Web, and The Trumpet of the Swan. White served in the U.S. Army and then attended Cornell University, earning a B.A. in 1921. He was an intensely shy and publicity averse man who would sneak out of the fire escape in his office rather than meeting visitors. Most people encounter White's books in childhood, but if they don't then they are likely to run across his writing when they are in high school or college, as he revised and gained co author credit with William Strunk, Jr. on all editions of The Elements of Style published after 1959.

My reviews of E.B. White's books:
The Elements of Style (3rd Edition) (with William Strunk, Jr.)

Other books by E.B. White I have read but not reviewed:
Charlotte's Web
Stuart Little
