Death: Still alive and illustrating books.
Comments: Gary Gianni is an American artist who is most famous for his eight year run as the illustrator for the Prince Valiant comic strip. Gianni graduated from the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts in 1976, and after a stint working as a courtroom illustrator for the Chicago Tribune, he moved on to illustrating books. Gianni has illustrated numerous works, including versions of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Bran Mak Morn: The Last King, and Solomon Kane (for which he received a Locus Award nomination in 2000), as well as graphic novels such as Batman: Black & White.
Gianni has a website named Gary Gianni that showcases his work.
