Me and Thomas at MidAmeriCon II |
Death: Still alive and being "Lynne, from DeKalb" on Verity!
Comments: Lynne M. Thomas is an American science fiction editor and librarian most notable for her work as the curator of the rare and special books collection for Northern Illinois University where she is in charge of the personal papers of more than seventy-five science fiction authors. Thomas was the editor of Apex Magazine from 2011 to 2013, and is currently the editor of the Hugo-winning Uncanny Magazine. In addition to her magazine editing, Thomas has also edited collections of essays such as Chicks Dig Time Lords and Chicks Dig Comics.
Thomas is also one of the regular members of the Doctor Who themed podcast Verity! and was formerly the moderator of the Hugo-winning podcast SF Squeecast. When the redhead and I met Thomas at MidAmeriCon II, the redhead couldn't place Thomas until she gave her familiar introduction from Verity! "I'm Lynn, in DeKalb", with her characteristic cadence.
Lynn is married to fellow science fiction editor Michael Damian Thomas.
Thomas has a website named Confessions of a Curator, Editor, Geek. She is featured on the websites for Uncanny Magazine and the Verity! podcast. Thomas can also be found on Twitter. For her work in editing and podcasting, Thomas has won four Hugo Awards.
