Comments: Sofia Samatar is an American professor and fantasy author best known for her novel A Stranger in Olondria and her Hugo-, Nebula-, and World Fantasy-nominated short story Selkie Stories Are for Losers. Samatar has a B.A. in English from Goshen College and an M.A. and Ph.D. in African Languages and Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is currently an assistant professor at California State University Channel Islands.
Sofia has a website named Sofia Samatar, and she also writes a blog titled kankedort. She can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.
