Comments: Ian Tattersall is a prominent British paleoathropologist. He is currently a curator at the American Museum of Natural History as a specialist in both human origins and lemurs. He studied archaeology and anthropology at Cambridge University and holds a Ph.D. in geology and vertebrate paleontology from Yale University. He has written several books about human origins and the history of paleoanthropology including The Monkey in the Mirror: Essays on the Science of What Makes Us Human, Becoming Human: Evolution and Human Uniqueness, and The Fossil Trail: How We Know What We Think We Know About Human Evolution.
