Death: Still alive and writing about aliens invading the Earth during World War II, or Roman Legions lost in a world where magic is real.
Comments: Harry Turtledove is an American science fiction and fantasy author best known for his alternate history novels such as the Great War series, the American Front series, and the Worldwar series.Turtledove attended UCLA, eventually earning a Ph.D. in Byzantine studies, a degree he put to good use with his Videssos fantasy series about a Roman legion that is transported to an alternate fantasy world. In his long of prolific career, Turtledove has won a Hugo award, a Prometheus Award, and two Sidewise Awards.
Turtledove has a website titled (appropriately enough) the Harry Turtledove Website. Early in his career, Turtledove used the pen name Eric G. Iverson due to the fact that he thought readers would not believe an author could be named Turtledove. He has also published works under the pseudonyms H.N. Turteltaub and Dan Chernenko.
