Author - Tenn, William

Birth: May 9, 1920.

Death: February 7, 2010.

Comments: William Tenn was the pen name of Philip Klass, an American science fiction author known for his biting satire and humor. Tenn served in the U.S. Army during World War II and began his writing career shortly after the conflict ended. Like most writers of his generation, the bulk of his writing was short fiction and essays (he published his nonfiction essays under his actual name Philip Klass). He wrote only two novels to go with his impressively large body of shorter works.

Tenn spent the bulk of his career teaching English and comparative literature at Penn State University, holding a position on the University faculty until he retired in 1988. He has a web page dedicated to him named The Official Home Page of Science Fiction Writer William Tenn.

Note: This Philip Klass is not the same person as Philip J. Klass (1920-2005), the noted UFO debunker.
