Comments: Matthew Hughes is a Canadian science fiction and fantasy author. He also writes mystery novels under the name Matt Hughes, and media tie-in works under the name Hugh Matthews. Hughes was born in Liverpool, but spent most of his life living in Canada working as a journalist and then a speechwriter. He has also lived in Ireland. He has published a couple dozen novels and numerous short stories, all within a relatively compressed writing career that has spanned a mere two decades.

Hughes has a website named Archonate: The Fiction of Matthew Hughes. He can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.
