Bear, Lynch, and Me at MidAmeriCon II |
Death: Still alive and writing piles of excellent fiction.
Comments: Elizabeth Bear is the nom de plume of Sarah Bear Elizabeth Wishnevsky. She is a speculative fiction author who has won the Campbell Award for Best New Writer, and has followed that up with three Hugo Awards. Oddly, this puts her in fairly select company among Campbell Award winners, as most have not gone on to much success in the Hugos. Bear has published more than two dozen novels and a much larger number of works of short fiction, winning several awards along the way. In addition to her Campbell and three Hugos, Bear has also won the Locus Award and the Sturgeon Award.
Bear is engaged to fellow speculative fiction author Scott Lynch.
Bear writes a blog named Elizabeth Bear Turns Steel into Peanut Brittle, and can also be found on Twitter under the name matociquala.
