Death: No.
Comments: Barry Longyear is best known for writing the novella Enemy Mine, which won the Nebula, Hugo, and Locus awards, and was made into a movie starring Dennis Quaid and Lou Gosset, Jr. in the two leading roles. Longyear also won the Campbell award for the best new writer, which makes him the only writer to win the Nebula, Hugo, and Campbell Award all in the same year. This stellar beginning has been followed by a strong career spanning several novels and numerous works of short fiction, but nothing has been nearly as brilliant as his first incandescent work.
Barry Longyear has a website named Barry B. Longyear: Webmansion.
