Comments: John Shirley is an American science fiction and horror writer. He is best known for his cyberpunk inspired science fiction and his dark splatterpunk style horror novels. In addition to novels and short fiction, Shirley is a screenwriter, and wrote the original script for the movie The Crow, as well as episodes of Deep Space Nine, Batman Beyond, and BraveStarr. Shirley's work has been honored with a Bram Stoker award and an International Horror Guild Award.

Shirley has a website titled John Shirley: The Authorized Website, and also writes a blog named The John Shirley Blog. He sometimes writes under the pseudonym D.B. Drumm.
