Birth: No clue.
Death: Still writing.
Comments: Dan Agin is a neurobiologist with a Ph.D. in biological psychology. He is an associate professor emeritus of molecular genetics and cell biology at the University of Chicago. As a writer, Agin is extremely knowledgeable concerning his chosen field, but seems to have a less firm grasp of other areas of study. In particular, his grasp of the social sciences, including economics, seems to be quite limited. This doesn't stop him from opining on those subjects.
In addition to his position as associate professor emeritus, Agin is also the editor in chief of ScienceWeek.
My reviews of Dan Agin's books:
Junk Science: How Politicians, Corporations, and Other Hucksters Betray Us
Other books by Dan Agin I have read but not reviewed:
None
