Death: Still alive and winning all the science fiction awards in China.
Comments: Cixin Liu is a Chinese science fiction author and computer engineer. His work has won nine Galaxy Awards, the highest honor given for science fiction works in China. His novel The Three-Body Problem was translated into English in 2014 by Ken Liu, and was nominated for the Nebula Award, Locus Award, Prometheus Award, Campbell Award, and Hugo Award in 2015. The sequel to this highly-regarded novel, The Dark Forest, was translated into English by Joel Martinsen and published in the United States in 2015. The final book in the trilogy, Death's End, will also be translated by Ken Liu and be published in 2016.
Liu graduated from the North China University of Water Conservancy and Electric Power. Despite the success of his writing, he continues to work as a senior engineer at the Niangziguan power plant.
