Author - Sawyer, Robert J.

Sawyer at Dragon*Con 2011
Birth: April 29, 1960.

Death: Still alive and writing novels.

Comments: Robert J. Sawyer is a Canadian science fiction author who is probably best known for his Neanderthal Parallax series and the novel Flashforward. The author of more than twenty novels and dozens of pieces of short fiction, Sawyer has won the Nebula Award, Hugo Award, and Campbell Award, as well as several Aurora Awards. He also edits the Robert J. Sawyer books imprint for Red Deer Press.

Sawyer's novel Flashforward was adapted into a short-lived television series of the same name. When I attended Dragon*Con, I went to a panel by him, and he regaled the crowd with stories about the misadventures related to the production and promotion of the television show, and how it ran into a monster by being scheduled opposite the wildly successful Big Bang Theory.

Sawyer has a website named Science Fiction Writer Robert J. Sawyer. He can also be found on Twitter and Facebook.
