Death: Still alive and writing about Cinderella, mischief, and magic.
Comments: Elizabeth de la Torre is an American scholar and commentator on magic and fable in literature. She holds an M.A. in British and American literature from Southern Illinois University and currently teaches high school, but plans to return to school to study for a Ph.D.
In the meantime, de la Torre presented at the 1st Global Interdisciplinary Conference in Salzburg, Austria in 2010 on the topic Midsummer Magic, Mischief, and Mayhem, and at the The 2011 Joint Conference of the National Popular Culture & American Culture Association and the Southwest/Texas Popular Culture & American Culture Association on the topic The Villainous Modern Cinderella.
