Death: Still alive and practicing cardiology.
Comments: H.G. Stratmann is an American cardiologist and science fiction writer. Stratmann has also written several science fact articles for Analog Science Fiction and Fact, mostly focusing on recent advances and future possibilities in the medical field. He holds a B.A. from St. Louis University and an M.D. from Southern Illinois University.
Despite working in medicine for nearly thirty years, Stratmann has taken the somewhat unusual step of returning to study at Missouri State University with an eye towards obtaining a B.S. in physics. His son, Henry Stratmann III, is also a published science fiction writer. He has a website showcasing his work titled H.G. Stratmann.
