Comments: Mercedes Lackey is an extremely prolific American fantasy author. A graduate of Purdue University, Lackey has published dozens of novels and many more works of short fiction and poetry, many of which are set in her fictional Valdemar universe. She credits Andre Norton, C.J. Cherryh, and Marion Zimmer Bradley as her primary influences.
Lackey is married to fantasy artist Larry Dixon, and has collaborated on several novels with him.
