Author - Parsons, Deke

Birth: It was a while ago, but definitely later than the 1930s.

Death: Still alive and writing about pulp fantasy fiction.

Comments: Deke Parsons is an American scholar and author whose primary commercially published work thus far has been the book J.R.R. Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, and the Birth of Modern Fantasy. He graduated from Claremont Graduate University in 2013 with a Ph.D. in English specializing in 20th century British literature and film.

I used to have a picture of Deke Parsons on this page, but the author contacted me an asked that it be taken down, so instead here is a picture of Smaug from the Rankin-Bass adaptation of The Hobbit.
