Comments: Jerry Pournelle is an American author and political scientist best known for writing military science fiction and his frequent collaborations with fellow science fiction author Larry Niven. Pournelle holds a B.S. and an M.S. in psychology and a Ph.D. in political science, all from the University of Washington. In addition to his science fiction writing career, Pournelle has also worked in Los Angeles city politics and as an advocate for the aerospace industry, where he pushed for the development of space-based weapons, including the Strategic Defense Initiative proposed by then President Ronald Reagan.

Pournelle writes a blog titled The View from Chaos Manor, which has an older version titled simply Chaos Manor Musings.
