Author - Gercama, Atje

Birth: It probably happened somewhere in the Netherlands.

Death: Still alive and studying how to make the world a more peaceful place.

Comments: Atje Gercama is an Irish scholar and author, currently working towards her Ph.D. in international peace studies at Trinity College in Dublin. She was the first scholar in residence at the University of Southern California's Shoah Foundation Institute where she studied the testimonies of Holocaust victims and other eyewitnesses as part of her research into the causes of genocide. She has also done considerable research into the Dutch Resistance of World War II, focusing on how the resistance movement worked to save lives.
