Comments: Gordon van Gelder is an American science fiction author, editor, and publisher. A graduate of Princeton University, van Gelder worked as an editor for St. Martin's Press for many years, and served as the managing editor of The New York Review of Science Fiction from 1988 to 1993. Van Gelder took over as editor of Fantasy & Science Fiction in 1997, holding that position until 2015, and he continues to own and act as publisher for the magazine. Van Gelder has been nominated for the Hugo Award numerous times, and has won it twice. He has also won the World Fantasy Award twice and has served as an administrator for the Philip K. Dick Award since 1995.
