Birth: 1964.

Death: Still alive and writing books containing and about poetry.

Comments: Mark Scroggins is an American university professor and writer. Scroggins holds an undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech, and graduate degrees from Cornell University. He has written several books of poetry, a couple of books of literary criticism, and a biography of former Confederate Secretary of State Robert Toombs. Scroggins has also published numerous articles and reviews in a variety of publications including Twentieth Century Literature, American Literature, Shofar, Studies in American Jewish Literature, Sagetrieb, The Cambridge Companion to Modernist Poetry, and The Blackwell Companion to Poetic Genres. He is currently on the faculty of the English department at Florida Atlantic University where he directs the graduate program there.
