Comments: Michael Bishop is an American science fiction author and editor. He holds a B.A. and an M.A. from the University of Georgia, and has taught at the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School and the University of Georgia. He has also served as writer in residence at LaGrange College.

Bishop's science fiction career has been long and notable. He has won the Nebula Award twice, the Locus Award four times, and the Mythopoeic Award once. He has been nominated for the Hugo Award numerous times and the Clarke Award, Campbell Award, and World Fantasy Award more than once each. He has published thirteen novels, ten collections, and more than a hundred pieces of short fiction as well as several poems, essays, and reviews.
