Musical Artist - Minnelli, Liza

Liza Minnelli is an American actress, singer, and dancer best known for her performance in the 1972 movie Cabaret and for being the daughter of Judy Garland and Vincent Minnelli. Born into Hollywood royalty, Minnelli made her film debut as an infant in the movie In the Good Old Summertime. Since then, she has appeared in numerous movies, including Cabaret, Arthur, Arthur 2, The Sterile Cuckoo, New York, New York, and Journey Back to Oz. In addition to her work on screen, Minnelli has appeared on stage in several Broadway productions such as Flora the Red Menace and Victor/Victoria.

Minnelli was no stranger to television roles, making several guest appearances, but mostly performing on variety shows such as The Ed Sullivan Show, Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, and The Judy Garland Show. Like many other prominent musical theater stars of the era, she appeared as a host of The Muppet Show on an Edgar Award-winning episode of the program. Minnelli also has had a successful career as a singer, releasing multiple albums and touring around the world. She released her first album Liza! Liza! in 1964, and her most recent album Confessions in 2010.

Among the many honors Minnelli has received in her career, she has won an Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, several Tony Awards, a Grammy Award, and an Emmy Award.
