Musical Artist - Wild, Jack

Jack Wild was an English actor who rose to prominence with his performance as the Artful Dodger in the musical Oliver! both on stage and in the movie adaptation. For his efforts on screen, Wild was honored with an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor as well as BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations. Due to the fame gained by his performance as the Artful Dodger, Wild was offered the lead role in the Sid and Marty Kroft production H.R. Pufnstuf, appearing in all seventeen television episodes and the 1971 movie. Unfortunately, Wild found the transition from child star to adult actor to be difficult, and after starring in the most disturbingly surreal and bizarre children's television show, he found roles hard to come by. In 2004, Wild underwent surgery for oral cancer which was sadly unable to halt the disease, and he died from it in 2006.
