Musical Artist - Brightman, Sarah

Sarah Brightman is a British singer and actress closely associated with the musical productions of Andrew Lloyd Weber, to whom she was married for a period of time. Brightman first rose to fame as part of the dance troupe Hot Gossip, and had a string of modest disco hits in the late 1970s. In 1981 she was cast in a production of the musical Cats, written by her future husband Andrew Lloyd Weber. She originated the role of Christine DaeƩ in the musical Phantom of the Opera. After her marriage to Lloyd Weber ended, Brightman left the stage and resumed her recording career producing a string of albums in the "classical crossover" genre, including a hugely successful 1996 duet with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli titled Time to Say Goodbye. More recently, Brightman has been training for a voyage to the International Space Station, and is scheduled to make the trip in 2015.

Brightman maintains a website titled Sarah Brightman.
